Throughout my entire teaching career, I have been immersed in the early years, arguably the most fascinating, and certainly the most impactful time, in a child’s development journey. Reflecting on this pivotal role, I realise that our experiences during these formative years leave an indelible mark on us as individuals, shaping our identities, perspectives, and trajectories in life.

With 16 years in various roles within the early years, including as class teacher, senior leader, phonics and early reading lead, safeguarding officer, and as a L.A. moderator, I have now embarked on an exciting new venture – as a Virtual Assistant supporting professionals, coaches, tutors, mentors, and academics in this field with administrative support.

My passion lies in understanding the diverse needs of all children, fostering inclusivity, and maximizing each child’s potential. Having worked in geographical areas of profound social deprivation, I have supported families and children facing conditions of abject poverty and social marginalisation. The rise in conflict and persecution globally, has led to an influx of children arriving at school with deeply rooted trauma and unable to communicate verbally, while their displaced parents strive to provide a new life of safety for them. It is not uncommon to encounter children starting school wearing nappies, non-verbal, frustrated, and distressed. While much excellent progress has been made in recognising behaviour as a form of communication and adapting provisions for every child, there is still much work to be done within the confines of an outdated education system.

My knowledge and experience in the sector, coupled with a suite of excellent administrative skills, make me the perfect ally for time-poor and overstretched early years consultants and coaches.

Who better to devise solutions and multiple back-up plans than an ex-early years teacher? With excellent time management, organisation, problem-solving, crisis management, and communication skills, I can support you in your endeavours, tackling the time-consuming tasks on your to-do list and managing your inbox while you focus on your vitally important work.
